Frequently Asked Questions
for Installation of Windows, Doors, Roofing and Siding

Q. What do you mean by Trust Contract?

A. The Trust contract was started by Windowman in 2004 in response to disreputable contractors not fulfilling they’re promises. If you trust us to work on your home we trust you to pay us when the job is completed to your satisfaction. We will come to your home, agree on a product and price to fit your needs. We will supply and install the product and when we are done, if you are happy, then you pay us! No forms, no credit check, no money down, no nonsense.

Q. Whose window, door, siding, etc. do you use?

A. Unlike all other company’s who offer only one or a limited selection of windows. Windowman offers them all! Contrary to what you may be told, there is no window that we cannot get and install for less, guaranteed. This also applies to doors, siding, and roofing.

Q. Lowe’s and Home Depot do not sell prepainted doors, do you?

A. Yes. Windowman offers any door available. We will paint it in over 81 stock colors, or we can laser match and paint your door to your specific needs.

Q. Do you have insurance?

A. Because Windowman is the local installer for the big box stores we carry 3 Million dollars worth of insurance through Cumberland Mutual Insurance Company. See a sample certificate. You will be mailed a certificate of Insurance upon receipt of your signed contract.

Q. Do you use subcontractors?

A. No, all workers are Windowman employees, are background checked and are Certified Master Craftsman. See a sample certificate (400K PDF file)

Q. Do you offer financing?

A. Yes, we offer all financing options through Equity Mortgage Home Improvement Financing. Ask your estimator for an application. Approvals are fast and easy.

Q. What is your warranty?

A. Windowman gives a lifetime warranty on all products we install. The warranty on your product depends on the manufacturer. See the warranty (107K PDF file)

Q. What are grids, grills, mullions, and do I need them?

A. Years ago windows were constructed of separate pieces of glass held in place by a grill work of wood (that’s the tic tac toe look in your window). Now windows are made of full pieces in the sash (actually double panes) with fake “grids” in between the panes of glass to give a home an original look. They are only decorative now and you may choose to add them or not as an extra.

Q. What is Low E and Argon?

A. These are coatings and additives that are available as upgrades in windows to make them more energy efficient. To learn more about these, we recommend visiting http://www.efficientwindows.org/ this is an unbiased Government sponsored website that is very helpful in explaining these upgrades.

Q. Do you work in the winter?

A. Yes, and it has little or no effect in your home, we do not take all your windows out at once. They are removed one at a time and immediately replaced with your new window. So there is minimal heat loss in your home. As a matter of fact for several reasons winter is the best season to do replacement windows!
